Education, not medical advice

The content on this site is general patient education. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not a substitute for a consultation with a clinician who has examined you and knows your history. Do not use it to decide on treatment without that consultation.

Temporary results and maintenance

Every botulinum toxin result is temporary. The lines return as the effect wears off, and maintenance treatment is required to keep a result continuous. No interval, duration or outcome described on this site is a promise; individual response varies with anatomy, movement pattern and metabolism.

No guaranteed outcome

No treatment described here can be guaranteed, and no result is permanent. Where this site describes typical onset, typical duration or a typical maintenance interval, it describes a range drawn from general experience rather than a commitment about your own case.

When to seek care urgently

After any injection, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing or slurred speech requires emergency care. Severe pain, or skin turning white, grey, mottled or dusky, is a vascular emergency and must be assessed immediately. Any change in vision requires emergency care. Do not wait for a review appointment.
